It was once believed to affect perhaps one in a million people. Upon more research, it was found that possibly as many as 2% of the population suffers from some degree of prosopagnosia. Even if this higher figure is excessive, the numbers are far greater than previously believed.<BR/><BR/>As for the social impact, I've found that I do best just explaining that I don't recognize faces, and leave it at that.
